Georgina Mills is a South Australian/Kaurna-based figurative sculptor who between 2015 and late 2020, embarked on an extraordinary journey in Florence, Italy. Training amount the shadow of such rich history, she honed her craft, immersing herself in the techniques of the old masters while adding her own unique voice and contemporary lens to the age-old tradition. L’Inconnue de la Seine • A tribute to the woman of the Siene. Circa 1880’s an unknown woman was pulled from the river Siene. She was retrieved with such a serine expression that the Paris morgue felt compelled to take a wax cast of her face. Her face has also been used in the development of resuscitation dolls. This is her death mask.
